Lyric Thermostat not heating or cooling properly


If your Lyric Thermostat is not heating or cooling as desired, check the following items to ensure proper function.

  1. Make sure that the thermostat mode is set properly. If you do not know how to do this view the artcile titled "How to adjust the mode of the Lyric Thermostat from the NorthStar Connect Application".
  2. Make sure that the power to the HVAC system is turned on, check the circuit breakers, and “Summer switch” if your HVAC unit is equipped with one and make sure that everything is properly turned on.
  3. If you have checked these things, and the HVAC will not turn on, contact Technical Support for further assistance.

Viewing live video from your application is a simple process, this will allow you to see what is going on at your door when you are not home. To view live video from the Northstar Connect website, follow the steps outlined below.

  1. From your browser, click here to be directed to the NorthStar Connect website. Use your credentials to log in.
  2. Once logged in, scroll down until you see the automation tab.
  3. Choose the thermostat that you want to set up a schedule for, and click the schedule button at the bottom right hand corner of the automation screen.
  4. This will bring you to a window where you will set the days, times, and temperatures that you want the thermostat to be set at.
  5. Use the options available to you to set the thermostat for the temperatures that you desire.
  6. Once the settings are how you want, be sure to click the Save button at the bottom right of the screen.

For your convenience, your Lyric Thermostat can be easily adjusted from the NorthStar Connect application. To adjust the mode of the thermostat, follow the steps outlined below.

  1. Open the NorthStar Connect application.
  2. Go to the automation option at the bottom of the screen.
  3. From the list of devices, choose the thermostat that you want to change the target temperature of.
  4. Press the mode button to cycle through the different modes.
  5. Choose the mode that you want and set the target temperature to the desired temperature.

Changing the mode on your Lyric Thermostat is a simple process. If you need to change the mode from heat to cool, or turn it off, simply follow the steps outlined below.

  1. Go to the Lyric thermostat.
  2. Look at the small curved window at the top of the thermostat.
  3. Look to the left and right of the current temperature being displayed in the middle of the curved window and press either the snowflake, or the sun, and every time you touch it, it will change modes. It will cycle between heat, cool, and off.

Changing the desired temperature of the Lyric thermostat is very simple. To change the desired temperature follow the steps outlined below.

  1. Go to the Lyric thermostat.
  2. Grasp the chrome colored outside ring of the thermostat and turn it to adjust the temperature up and down.

  1. Open the NorthStar Connect application.
  2. Go to the Automation option at the bottom of the screen.
  3. From the list of devices, choose the thermostat that you want to change the target temperature of.
  4. Use the two arrows up and down to adjust the target temperature to the desired setting.
