If a SIXPIR Motion detector is showing a loss of supervision, this means that for whatever reason, the sensor is not being monitored by the alarm panel. To ensure that the sensor is being monitored properly perform the following troubleshooting steps.
The alarm panel will occasionally show that the motion sensors are faulted, this is simply because they have been tripped by someone moving in front of them. This is no reason for concern – if it happens while you are trying to arm the alarm panel, simply wait until the fault clears, and then arm the alarm panel. If the fault on the sensor never clears, further troubleshooting will be required. Contact Technical Support for assistance. Contact Us
There are several things that can cause a false alarm on a SIXPIR motion detector including, heating/AC vents, pets, stoves, and windows. A good way to test the sensor is to cover it with a piece of paper or a towel (or something similar). Continue to arm the alarm system on Away with the motion sensor covered, and if the false alarms continue, that sensor is most likely broken, and will need replacement.
