1. Remove the battery cover from the lock.
   
2. Remove the battery pack from the lock.
   
3. With the battery pack removed from the door lock, press and hold the lock button.
   
4. With the lock button depressed, insert the battery pack with the arrow facing the door.
5. The door lock will begin to lock and unlock itself. Continue to hold the lock button down until this process stops. This locking and unlocking process is the recalibration process. Once the recalibration process is complete, release the lock button.
6. Test the lock by locking it using the lock button, then unlock it by typing in the code on the keypad. If the lock still does not work, contact Technical Support for further assistance.

How to turn off the beeping on Kwikset door lock

Any time you press a button on the Kwikset door lock, it will beep. If you want this feature disabled, complete the following steps.

1. Remove the battery pack cover by pulling it straight upward.
   
2. Locate the four setting switches at the bottom right corner.
   
3. Switch three is for the beep feature. Up is on, and down is off.
4. Set the switch the way you want it, and put the battery cover back in place.

How to enable or disable the auto lock feature on Kwikset door lock

The auto lock feature is meant to lock the door automatically if the lock is left unlocked for more than 30 seconds. To turn this feature on or off, follow the steps outlined here.

1. Remove the battery pack cover by pulling it straight upward.
   
2. Locate the four setting switches at the bottom right corner.
   
3. Switch two is for the auto lock feature. Up is on, and down is off.
4. Set the switch the way you want it, and put the battery cover back in place.

How to change the batteries in Kwikset door lock

1. Remove the battery cover from the lock.
   
2. Remove the battery pack from the lock.
   
3. Remove the batteries from the battery pack and replace with four new AA batteries making sure they are oriented correctly.
   
4. Insert the battery pack back into the lock making sure that the arrow on top of the battery pack is facing toward the door.
   
5. Test the lock for function by locking it from the keypad, then using the keypad to unlock it.
6. Once the batteries have been replaced, and you have verified that the lock is working, replace the battery cover.

How to rekey Kwikset door lock

You can rekey your Kwikset door lock to match the other locks in your home by yourself without the need for a locksmith. To do this process you will need three things. (1)The Key that currently works with the kwikset lock. (2) The key that works with your other locks. (3) The kwikset rekey tool

1. Put the key that currently works for the door lock into the lock.
2. Turn the key clockwise 90 degrees until it is horizontal.
3. Insert the Kwikset rekey tool into the small hole located next to the keyhole. Insert the rekey tool until you feel a click.
4. Remove the key and the rekey tool from the lock while leaving the key in a horizontal position.
5. Insert the new key into the lock horizontally, ensuring that it is fully inserted, and turn it counterclockwise until it is fully vertical.
6. Remove the key from the lock.
7. Your new key will now work with the lock.

How to turn the LED light on/off

The LED light on the door lock that faces inside the home is there to show the current status of the lock. The light will blink every 10 seconds to show the status of the lock when this feature is enabled. There are three different lights that can be displayed and the meanings are as follows:

• Green: Door is unlocked
• Yellow: Door is locked
• Red: Low battery

To enable or disable the light, complete the following.

1. Remove the battery pack cover by pulling it straight upward.
   
2. Locate the four setting switches at the bottom right corner.
   
3. Switch number one is for the LED light. Up is on, and down is off.
4. Set the switch the way you want it, and put the battery cover back in place.
